Become a Candidate

The most powerful and effective way to truly change your local area and our national politics is to become a candidate for election to Parliament.

We are looking for a diverse range of potential candidates with passion, enthusiasm and energy to clean up politics, modernise our democracy, fight corruption and restore fairness. We want candidates who are seeking to help their local community and the country.

The True & Fair Party runs a three stage process and requires applicants to be active members of the party to apply. Currently, you also legally must be over 18 and a UK, Irish or Commonwealth citizen to apply.

We can’t wait to hear from you!

Stage 1

Complete the short Application Form below and if successful we will send you a much more detailed Application Form.

Stage 2

Complete our detailed application form and sign our Code of Conduct. You will also have to send in a completed personal DBS Check.

Stage 3

Well done for getting this far - You’re nearly there!

Should you pass stage 2 you will be invited to a candidate Assessment Day. Details of the Assessment Day will be sent to you in advance. Part of the assessment will include a review of your social media platform activities.

Successful candidates will receive media training and marketing and communications support, as well as volunteer and local activist support. You will be expected to attend a number of events during the course of your candidate journey.

(NOTE: Under the Representation of the People Act 1981, you are disqualified from becoming a member of the House of Commons if you have been found guilty of an offence and sentenced to more than one year in prison and are currently detained as a result of that offence. Once you are released from prison, you are not prevented from standing for election as an MP. The House of Commons Disqualification Act 1975 also outlaws the holders of various positions from being MPs. These include serving civil servants, police officers, members of the armed forces and judges.)
